For the first time in WNBA history, the Associated Press announced their seasonal awards this week. The AP, recognizing her strong statistics and leadership on the Sparks, named Candace Parker to its All-WNBA 2nd-Team.
The award comes on the heels of a 2016 season in which Parker, 30, averaged 15.3 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game, and 4.9 assists per game. Twice named WNBA Player of the Week, Candace can now add the AP accolade to her list of accomplishments.
The Sparks return to action on September 28, playing the Chicago Sky in WNBA Semi-Final play at the Walter Pyramid at Long Beach State University.
