Candace Parker was named the WNBA’s Western Conference Player of the Month for August.

Parker also earned Player of the Month in August back in 2015. This is her sixth POM award of her career, fourth-most in league history. Over the last 11 games, she led the Los Angeles Sparks to a 9-2 record to finish the regular season at 26-8, the second best record in the league. In August, the former University of Tennessee star was sixth in the conference in scoring (18.5 ppg) and the fourth highest rebounder (8.1 rpg).

The two-time regular-season MVP tipped off her incredible month of play with back-to-back games of 20 or more points, including 24, six assists and four rebounds in a win over the New York Liberty on Aug. 4. On Aug. 18, she notched a double-double with 29 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in a loss to the Chicago Sky.
