Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks came just short of their second straight WNBA championship, falling to the Minnesota Lynx 85-76 in the decisive Game 5. The Sparks had a 2-1 series lead after three games, but the Lynx closed it out with back-to-back wins, including the clincher on their home court.

Despite the series-ending loss, Parker dominated with 19 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and four blocks. She finished the postseason averaging 16.9 points per game and was top five in assists, rebounds, blocks and steals.

“We’re sad. Obviously we lost,” Parker said postgame. “Glad everybody enjoyed the series. It was exciting.”

The Sparks are the last team to repeat as league champs back in 2002.
